Some cool stuff coming up this month...

Race across the Bridge!
Sunday November 13th - The Inaugural Citizens Bank Newport Pell Bridge Run is a 4.2 mile run across the Newport/Pell Bridge at 6:30 a.m. The Veteran's Day Weekend race will benefit Operation Stand Down Rhode Island, Meeting Street, Special Olympics Rhode Island and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center. The race marks the first time in decades that runners will be able to cross the Newport/Pell Bridge since it's opening in 1969.  ay November 13th - Citizens Bank Newport Pell Bridge Run.  Contact Kathy for a special discount code available to all Pulse members.

Free Sugar Craving Workshop/Free Classes and Trunk Show - Friday November 18th 5pm til 8pm

Join us at Pulse for our second monthly friday night event. Jacki and Kathy will be holding:
  • 5pm Cardio Blast Class with Kathy and Jacki
  • 6pm Sugar Craving Workshop with Lynn Goodwin - Participants learn about the effects sugar has on the body and ways to reduce and eliminate sugar cravings. As a special bonus, workshop participants will receive a free invitation to a one-on-one consultation. Learn how to beat those sugar cravings! Learn about whole foods that are naturally sweet! Feel at peace once you are able to control your cravings.
  • 7pm Yoga Class with Jeff
We hate goodbyes....This friday is Becky Gough's last class with us for a while!  Becky is moving back to New York.  We know you have enjoyed her as much as we have and we'll certainly miss her energy in classes.  A big thanks to her for being our wingman for the last 5 months.  She's been an invaluable part of our success this summer and fall....we hope that she returns to join us in the future because she always has a home at Pulse.  Her last class will be Friday at 10:30am,  We wish her all the best!

New Classes!

Got some new classes for you guys to try out this week.....

Sunday at 8am - Martial Arts Kickbox Cardio with Jacki - Martial Arts Kickbox Cardio mixes martial arts style aerobic patterns (think 'Kill Bill') with bodybar combat, jumprope intervals & kickbox intervals for that kind of sweat that leaves your fingers tingling.  The heat might be turned up just a bit at the start of class so you're POURING by the time you leave... Flush out the fat & toxins here!!!

Weds at 9:30am - Kettlebell Yoga Fusion - with Kathy and Jeff - Come find the perfect blend! Kathy & Jeff will lead alternating segments of yoga and kettle bell through an hour of mind altering movement.  Kathy has been working with kettlebells for years and will lead you in a traditional kettlebell workout suited for all levels.  Kettlebells are cast iron weights that looks like a cannonball with a handle. All exercises are done with momentum and require every muscle in the body to react.  The muscles you develop during Kettlebell and Yoga work are more likely to be elongated, because while you are strengthening them, you are simultaneously lengthening them.

Weds 3:30pm - Firework Tween Training with Jacki - Mix up spin, trampoline & bosu in age appropriate workouts for kids ages 8/9 - 12/14... kids will have the chance to be in charge of the class and the microphone! These workouts will be high-energy, cardio based exercises to FUN YOUNG MUSIC chosen by the participants - the goal is to have fun and sweat!  Email jacki@pulsenewport.com for more info - parent punchcards can be used for these workouts.

Road Races

Congratulations to all the Pulse Runners for their great efforts in the Amica 5k held on Saturday October 15,  and the Marathon on Sunday October 16th.

Big shout outs to:

Kate Rowles, John Rowles and Rana Johnson for their outstanding 5k race times.
Pat Carrellas helping Amanda Hook finish her first Marthon
1/2 Marathoners: Megan O'Rourke  (hitting her goal of running under 2 hours), Nicole Fitzgerald running an average 7:40 minute mile :), Sarah Clark a SMOKIN 1:41.

AND LASTLY - Big shout out to Dennis Quelch for PR'ing his 1/2 marathon with a 1:35 time...WOOHOO!

Stroller Strides comes to PULSE

Stroller Strides is a fitness program that moms can do with their babies... the schedule at Pulse will be Mondays & Thursdays at 4pm... Alzheimer's Awareness Day at Pulse!

Thank You to Everyone Who Supported the Alzheimer's Walk Day with me!
Today, Triple Threat Class participants' class punchcards went 100% to Alzheimer's Research and I had many clients privately donate as well.  My sister's team collected over $2000 to walk today... thank you all so much for being part of it!
