Here's how we started...
The story of Pulse…
Jacki Lane and Kathy Martin started Pulse in August of 2010 with a following of over 100 Beach Boot Campers ready to go for more workouts through the winter. After 2 booming years, Jacki wanted to grow by adding more trainers, more classes & more camps, and Kathy wanted to stick with offering her killer workouts and dial back from the business management of Pulse. The two coordinated a friendly buyout, leaving Jacki as Pulse's owner and Kathy as a silent partner with a share in the ownership. They've passed their style of training on to the younger staff and clients have said, 'THERE'S NO B-TEAM at PULSE...' - try them all!
Newport, RI needed a killer fitness studio - and Jacki & Kathy created it!
To create the full schedule of classes that you can book using this site, Jacki reached out to other trainers on the Island who have a passion for creating fresh workouts for their campers and clients.
The Pulse studio is designed for the boot camp workouts Jacki and Kathy made famous on Second Beach. It is a different workout every time.
In December, 2012, Pulse expanded to a second location to focus solely on barre inspired workouts. The new studio ~ bellevue barre, at 94 William Street in Newport has it's classes listed on the Pulse Website and is Newport's first dedicated Barre Studio offering CoreBarre™, Booty Barre™ and Bellevue Barre workouts. Pulse Punchcards work at both studios.
Pulse has no membership dues and is not open for public hours. There are no posers skulking around a weight room, checking themselves in the mirror for five minutes for every one they spend actually working out. The studio offers camps, classes and private training sessions only.
Rates for Camps and Classes
FitCamps are 7-8 week programs including pre & post body comp analysis, photos, homework, basic nutrition guidance and 14 bootcamp workouts with the same group, at the same set time periods each week. FitCamps cost $299 for the full program.
We run our bootcamps to get results. No excuses.
Classes are purchased on a "virtual punchcard" that you can manage on this site. Rates for class cards are:
$25/Drop-in Class Fee
5 Classes for $100 ($20/class)
10 Classes for $150 ($15/class)
15 Classes for $210 ($14/class)
20 Classes for $260 ($13/class)
How to reserve your spot
You have to have cookies enabled in your Web browser to use this site to manage your account If you’re not able to do that, you can view the schedule and email the trainer to reserve a space. They will help you with payment and registration when you come to class.
